JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: The Camden County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Connor Mathis’ body has been found.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Brunswick Police Department has issued a missing child alert for 16-year-old Conner Mathis. The Georgia State Patrol and Jekyll Island Fire Department have been searching since Monday. He was last seen at Camp Jekyll.
Conner is high-functioning autistic and describes himself as African-American, with short hair and suspenders. He is 5 feet, six inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. Police believe he may be wearing red shorts with a black T-shirt.

GSP is asking residents to check the area around their homes as they believe Conner may be scared, confused and seeking shelter.
Anyone with information that could help locate Conner is asked to call 911. Callers should tell the dispatcher they have information about the missing Camp Jekyll boy.
