CHICAGO (WLS) — Seven people were hospitalized after a South Side police-involved shooting Thursday evening, officials said.
The incident happened on Wells Street near Root Street in Fuller Park. Police told ABC7 that four people, identified only as men, were shot.
Firefighters said at least two of those shot were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious to critical condition.
Three CPD officers and two other people were also injured and taken to the same hospital in good condition, CFD said. Police told ABC7 the injured officers were not hit by gunfire.
COPA said it is responding to the officer-involved shooting.
Officials did not immediately provide further information about the incident.
