Mike Bosch leaves as Florida pitching coach.

The school officially announced Bosch’s departure in a press release Thursday evening.

“At the end of the season, Mike and I sat down and talked about the year and his career here as pitching coach. We decided that moving in a different direction was best for the program,” he said head coach Tim Walton in a statement.

“Mike is the hardest working person I have ever been around. His objective teaching style and game planning are at the forefront of the industry. This was a very difficult decision for us to make. Mike is a extraordinary man and cares deeply about his athletes and the Gator Softball program. I wish him, his wife Ellen, and his family all the best.”

Bosch had served as the Gators’ pitching coach since the summer of 2018, working with Gator pitchers for the past five seasons. Under his tutelage, he was a tutor Kelly Barnhill i Elizabeth Hightower at the All-American Awards.

“Being a part of this championship program at the University of Florida has been an incredible professional and personal experience,” Bosch said in a statement. “Thanks to the sports director Scott Stricklin and head coach Tim Walton. As I look forward to the next chapter of my coaching career, I wish Coach Walton and the team continued success.”

According to the school’s statement, the Gators “will now conduct a national search for the program’s next pitching coach.”
