Former President Donald Trump is “toasted” if “even half” of the material in his impeachment is true, former Attorney General Bill Barr told Fox News on Sunday.

Barr made an appearance with host Shannon Bream about last week’s impeachment against Trump. He argued that the incident is “very damning” for the Republican candidate, who has said he will continue to run for president in 2024 even if he is convicted.

“If even half [the indictment] that’s right, then it’s toast. It’s a very detailed indictment, and it’s very, very damning,” Barr said.

“This idea of presenting Trump as a victim here, the victim of a witch hunt, is ridiculous. Yes, he has been a victim in the past. Yes, his adversaries have pursued him obsessively with false claims, and I have been by his side advocating for him when he’s a victim, but this is very different. He’s not a victim here,” Barr added. “He was completely wrong when he was entitled to these documents. These documents are among the most sensitive secrets the country has.”
