A Kansas man died Friday after a raft he was in overturned in the Sunshine Falls area of the Arkansas River.
Fremont County Coroner Randy Keller said Dustin Harker, 47, of Hutchinson, Kansas, died at the scene.
According to Fremont County Undersheriff Derek Irvine, deputies and medical personnel were dispatched to the 41000 block of US 50 in reference to a commercial rafting accident around 2 p.m.
The commercial raft carried Harker and additional occupants.
Irvine said lifesaving measures were conducted for approximately 45 minutes.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
“We’re waiting on the autopsy reports because a lot of times we don’t know if it was a drowning or if someone had a cardiac event,” Keller said.
