It looks like General Hospital fans will have to wait to see what happens next on the hit soap opera after today’s episode was anticipated due to a special report by ABC News.
The show, which normally airs weekdays at 3 p.m. ET on ABC, was interrupted by the network’s coverage of former President Donald Trump’s appearance in a federal courtroom in Miami, where he pleaded not guilty to all charges brought against him for his handling of classified documents.
Instead, the episode of General Hospital that aired today will air on Wednesday (June 14) during its regular timeslot, before coming to Hulu i ABC.com the following day.
Meanwhile, fans of the show, which just celebrated its 60th anniversary, making it the longest-running daytime drama on network television, took to social media to air their complaints about the unexpected interference.
“Every network has like 12 channels why they have to cut #GH they can’t air it on one of their other 12 options,” one fan suggestedwhile another added“Starting to watch this show on Hulu exclusively. My DVR can’t keep up with all these preemptions.”
A third person smoked“The news coverage can be shown at 5 or 6 when the news is usually shown. This is getting old. No, you do NOT need to put it on Disney plus. ABC news needs to stop in peace in the afternoons and put NEWS SHIT ON THE NEWS.”
“Honestly they need to put episodes of general hospital on disney plus or something,” said a fifth fan counteracted. “I know a lot of people can’t afford streaming services, but we would benefit if our story time was interrupted by some orange man.”
Somebody else was joking“I’m tired of wrinkled cheeto interrupting my shows,” before another he wrote“@GeneralHospital has to go broadcast all these interruptions for something stupid is ridiculous.”
