NCAA News: The Wisconsin Badgers’ tear in the recruiting game continued today. Luke Fickell turned his off infamous bat signal on Twitter, and less than an hour later, another running back announced his commitment to the Badgers. This time it’s Maryland’s Gideon Ituka.
The Wisconsin Badgers receive the commitment of three-star running back Gideon Ituka
The Wisconsin Badgers have done well in terms of the class of 2024. They currently ranked number 14 in the country after a flurry of commitments followed the program’s official visit weekends in early June. The Badgers still have plenty of game-changing goals left for the program, and they got another one today.
“Oh man, that was amazing,” Ituka he said of his official visit. “Really seeing the city and the atmosphere for the first time, I felt at home. My family loved it, I loved it. We had a great time here. The coaches did a great job. Meeting the players felt like family. Overall it was a great visit. I loved it here. My parents really liked it too.
“Just like they treated me like family,” Ituka added. “It wasn’t really about football. It was more about family.”
Gideon Ituka rushed 152 times for 1,106 yards (7.3 yards per carry) and 16 touchdowns as a junior. He is the 15th player to announce his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers for the 2024 class.
He was initially offered by Paul Chryst’s staff in May 2022. Ituka took an unofficial visit to meet the new coaching staff in April 2023 and took his official visit to the Badgers earlier this month. He also held offers from Boston College, Maryland, Tennessee, Syracuse, Temple and several other schools.
