THEFT IN RECOVERY. ACCORDING TO THIS CRIMINAL COMPLAINT, KENNY PICKETT’S SUV WAS PARKED IN THE SUN HERE AT BOWSER CHEVROLET IN MONROEVILLE, AND HE WAS ALSO HERE ON WEDNESDAY FOR AN EVENT WHEN POLICE SAY SOMEONE GOT INTO THE DRIVER’S SEAT AND WAS THE SUV BUT WITH PICKETT’S BELONGINGS IN THE CAPITAL LETTERS, WITH PICKETT’S CAR AND HE TOLD US THE STEELER’S PLAYBOOK WAS IN THE BACK SEAT. AND I WENT, OH BOY. AND THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS CONFIRMED TO PITTSBURGH ACTION NEWS FOUR THAT THE QB’S PLAYBOOK WAS IN ITS GENESIS WHEN IT WAS STOLEN. BUT HE SAYS KENNY PICKETT’S PLAYBOOK IS BACK WITH PICKETT’S SUV. ACCORDING TO POLICE, THE STEELERS GENESIS WAS FOUND HERE NEAR THE HERITAGE TRACK IN MURRYSVILLE. HE SAYS THAT THIS MAN, 60-YEAR-OLD CHRISTOPHER CARTER, STOLE IT AND BROUGHT IT HERE WITHIN FOOT OF WHERE HE LIVES. I WENT TO CARTER’S DOOR TO ASK ABOUT THE ALLEGATIONS, BUT NO ONE ANSWERED. HIS NEIGHBOR, GARY LEGLER, SAYS HE SAW THE POLICE TAKE CARTER INTO CUSTODY. I AM VERY VERY HAPPY BECAUSE HE IS A GOOD GUY. I CAN’T SEE HIM DO ANYTHING. BUT ACCORDING TO COURT DOCUMENTS, CARTER CAN BE SEEN ON CAMERA LEAVING HIS VEHICLE IN BOWSER ON WEDNESDAY WHILE PICKETT WAS THERE FOR AN EVENT. THEN HE SAYS CARTER GOT IN PICKETT’S SUV AND DROVE HOME. LEGLER TELLS ME HE WAS THERE WHEN THE CAR AND THE PLAYBOOK WERE RECOVERED. I SAID: Oh, I got the notebooks back and MR CHRISTOPHER CARTER IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH THEFT, RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY AND UNLAWFUL USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE. An arrest has been made in the reported theft of an SUV belonging to Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett. A Steelers playbook was also recovered from the vehicle. Pickett had been participating in a local event when the SUV, a 2023 Genesis, was stolen. Police were able to identify the suspect by running the license plates on the suspect’s personal vehicle, which he had left at the dealership after stealing Pickett’s vehicle. According to police, the Genesis was found near the Westmoreland Heritage Trail in Murrysville. Gary Legler, a neighbor of the suspect, tells us Pickett’s vehicle was sitting near the suspect’s home and a dealership sent someone to pick up the SUV. Legler says The representative then told police, “‘Oh, the car was sitting there and he (the suspect) took it. And the owner has a book in the back, just personal information.’ And come to find out, it’s Kenny Pickett’s car. It’s the Steelers playbook in the back seat.” That playbook has since been recovered. Christopher Carter, 60, of Murrysville, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, according to the criminal complaint.Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 went to Carter’s home to ask about the allegations, but no one answered the door.
