SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – An AMBER Alert has been canceled for a Massachusetts girl who was abducted by her non-custodial birth mother.

Mass State Police spokesman David Procopio said four-year-old Cortana Goncalves and 32-year-old Brandee Arnold were found inside a trailer park on Fifth Avenue in Cheshire early Thursday. the afternoon. He added that Goncalves is safe and unharmed.

Earlier in the day, an AMBER Alert had been issued for Goncalves and she was believed to be in the custody of Arnold, who is her birth mother.

State police said Arnold, whose last known location was in Mass. Pike in Blandford around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, took Goncalves in violation of a custody agreement.

“Arnold has previously made suicidal and homicidal statements, and there is an urgent concern for the child’s safety and well-being,” Procopio said.
