Wisconsin has landed its first commitment in the class of 2025 … and it’s a big one.
Rockwall (Texas.) quarterback Landyn Locke made an early commitment to head coach Luke Fickell and the Badgers after an unofficial visit earlier this month.
As a sophomore, Locke completed 61 percent of his passes for 1,823 yards and 31 touchdowns with just four interceptions.
The unranked caller had early scholarship offers from UW, Miami (FL), SMU, Tulsa and Western Kentucky. The Badgers offered the 6-foot-3 signal caller in May for offensive coordinator Phil Longo.
“He said my athleticism stood out and the way I spin the ball,” Locke explained. “He said he was able to make every pitch on the field.”
“See what he did in North Carolina Drake Maye it was pretty amazing,” Locke added. “He does a lot of things that I’m familiar with from my high school — RPO and things like that. I like all of that.”
Locke is the younger brother of UW freshman quarterback Braedyn Locke.
“I feel like we’re similar in the way we run the game and the speed at which we run it,” he said. “We both shoot the same. I’m a little taller and thinner than him. I like to think of myself as a little more athletic, not gonna lie.”
Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Virginia and others had also expressed interest in Locke this summer.
Stay tuned for more on Locke’s commitment to UW…
