ROCHESTER, NY – A 6-year-old boy died after being struck by a vehicle around 2:15 pm Friday on Thurston Road.
Rochester Police Lt. Greg Bello said the boy died at Strong Memorial Hospital after being hit near the intersection with Sawyer Street.
He said the driver of the vehicle, which was northbound on Thurston Road, is cooperating with the investigation. Police are interviewing several witnesses and reviewing video from businesses in the area. Bello predicted the stretch of Thurston Road would be closed for several hours.
