EXCLUSIVE: The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Dobbs decision and overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, giving states the power to decide their abortion laws. A year after the monumental decision, activists reveal what a pro-life message seeks to “change the political landscape” by 2024.
“I think what the pro-life movement is looking for is bold, uncompromising leadership in life,” Lila Rose, president of the pro-life nonprofit Live Action, told Fox News Digital. 2024 presidential race. “Leaders who are visionaries, leaders who speak the truth even when it is unpopular. And the truth is, if you’re a human life in the womb, you deserve legal protection and you should be protected from homicide.”
With the 2024 presidential election looming, GOP candidates are taking their stances on abortion, an issue that will likely play a big role in voter decisions next cycle, but some have pulled back from charting one line on the subject. With that in mind, Rose suggested that “candidates willing to call abortion what it is” will be the ones to capture the attention of pro-life voters.
Rose said someone like Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., who won by a nearly 20-point margin in the midterms before launching his 2024 presidential campaign, has embodied pro-life leadership.

“We need to demand better from our candidates and look for leaders who are leaders in life. Governor DeSantis won re-election in a landslide. He just passed a ban on abortion after a baby is six weeks old, that’s a big step forward,” Rose said in the exclusive interview.
“You have a purple state like Floridaand you see that when people get active, when they organize together to achieve specific political goals, big changes can be made,” Rose added.
Kellyanne Conway echoed Rose’s thoughts during a recent press call with Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life, where she challenged the pro-life community to pressure pro-abortion candidates to take a stand on the issue.
“If you’re running for president of the United States, it should be easy to have a minimum standard of 15 weeks,” Conway said on the call. “A show of commitment and compassion, and lowering the temperature provides a good opening and opportunity for hearts and minds to know the truth about the political party, to learn the truth about scientific development and the preciousness of life, and to know the truth on abortion in 2023 in this nation.”
“Pro-life is not about winning, it’s about saving and making sure we’re consistent throughout your life,” Conway said before referring to how the 2024 GOP leader and leader. former president Donald Trump “increased support for community health clinics” during his presidency.
Several state leaders across the country passed pro-life laws over the past year, but Rose emphasized that the pro-life movement is spending heavily, with some marketing calculations showing that a dollar pro-life equals $40 pro-abortion.
The activist noted that while much progress has been made since Roe was overturned in June 2022, “we need to invest more in education and marketing. The pro-abortion side is all marketing. They serve lies and they use disinformation.”
After some pro-life the legislation was not passed at the state level in the 2022 midterms, including the Protection of Babies Born Alive Act, which would require medical professionals to provide medical care to children born alive after a failed abortion attempt, Rose said “we should focus on education and activism” in order to develop a winning message on the ballot.
“These are things that help open your eyes to the truth about abortion,” Rose said. “That will help and get the legislation passed.”
Rose detailed the reversal of Roe’s impact on the pro-life community and how “we have the opportunity of a lifetime to achieve full legal protection for premature infants and ensure that the right to life in this country.”
“One thing as a first step is to redouble the cultural work to educate others, to change hearts and minds in our own communities. That’s something Live Action is focused on,” Rose told Fox. “And they’re not going to change overnight. But with the quiet, everyday work of reaching people, teaching, educating, we can make a cultural change.”
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, R-Calif., said Friday that Republicans won’t vote for national pro-abortion legislation because they are “afraid of their constituents.”
“What are they afraid of? They are afraid of their constituents,” the Democrat said during a press conference. “They will have a lot more to fear in the next election. We can guarantee this. They played an important role in the last election. It will be even bigger in the next election.”

While Democrats claim the GOP won’t vote pro-abortion because they’re “afraid,” Rose said pro-lifers will “elect political leaders who are really bold and uncompromising leaders on life and who don’t “They will approach and run away from the subject.”
Rose also highlighted that Live Action is announcing the movement’s new North Star “calling for full legal protection for the child, as promised by the 14th Amendment.”
