A motorcyclist who allegedly shot another on Route 15 at the Beautys Run Road interchange around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday was in police custody and awaiting arraignment on felony charges, according to Lycoming Regional Police. The driver’s identity had not yet been released.
No one was injured and no vehicles appeared to have been struck by the three or four bullets that were fired, police said.
The road rage incident was the result of the two drivers being involved in a minor fender-bender in the city, but efforts to obtain any details of that incident were unsuccessful.
The two drivers continued north on Route 15 toward Old Lycoming Township, police said, adding that one of them shot the other as they approached the Beautys Run Road interchange. The gunman continued north while the driver he shot stopped and called police.
The northbound exit ramp to Beautys Run Road was immediately closed to traffic while police officers searched the area for ballistic evidence. The ramp was reopened about two hours later.
Law enforcement agencies were told to be on the lookout for a red Mazda, which was found at an undisclosed location north of the shooting scene around 5 p.m.
The driver, who was from Tioga County, was arrested by state police in Mansfield.
