BOSTON – Police are investigating two crime scenes in Boston, including one where a person was shot to death Thursday night, officials said.
According to the Boston Police Department, officers responding to a report of a shooting in the area of 5th Leyland Street in Dorchester shortly before midnight found a gunshot victim.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were tipped off, but as of Friday morning no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
As detectives scoured the area for evidence, another group of officers rushed to Dunmore Street, which is about a half-mile away in Roxbury.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a white car behind a church with multiple bullet holes in the windshield. They were then flagged down by a victim near East Cottage Street who reported being involved in an armed carjacking.
There were no injuries in the alleged carjacking.
It is not clear if these two incidents are related.
Investigations are still ongoing in both scenarios.
