Tropical Storm Bret is moving away from the Lesser Antilles

Tropical Storm Bret exits the Lesser Antilles on Friday morning and moves into the eastern Caribbean Sea.

As of 11 a.m. Friday, it was 235 miles west of St. Vincent and moving west at 21 mph.

Winds are 60 mph with higher gusts.

The minimum estimated central pressure is 1001 mb.

All watches and advisories have been discontinued for the Lesser Antilles.

The center of Bret will continue to move westward away from the Lesser Antilles and across the eastern and central Caribbean Sea over the next few days.

Weakening is expected over the next few days and Bret is expected to dissipate into the central Caribbean Sea by Sunday.

The complex will not affect northeast Florida or southeast Georgia.

Bret is the second tropical storm of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season. The first named storm, Arlene, was a short-lived system in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hurricane season ends on November 30.
