A child’s body was recovered Monday night from Lake Overholser. Another is still missing, authorities say, and police have rescued two more.
SkyNews 9’s Bob Mills showed two people sitting near the spout Monday afternoon at Lake Overholser. Police deployed a water rescue team to reach them and a diving team to find the other two.
According to the two who were rescued, the other two are 10 years old and 11 years old.
According to police, the four boys were at the lake fishing and celebrating a birthday. Two of the boys decided to swim while the other two stayed at the edge. One of the boys swimming lost a shoe, so all the boys went in to get it. This caused all the boys to be swept away by the current.
Police closed the bridge over Overholser Lake at Northwest 10th Street while they investigated.
