Blue states are losing population for a reason
Will the last person living in Pennsylvania please turn off the lights?
If you believe the national media, Republicans are all right-wing lunatics. If that were even remotely true, then why are people moving out of blue states in droves to live in red states? Between 2010 and 2020, the fastest growing states were led by Republicans. Taxes, crime, traffic and unfavorable business climates are some of the main reasons people have been migrating to the Sun Belt states.
If you’re a numbers lover, here they are. In the last year alone, California lost 350,000 inhabitants, New York 300,000, Illinois 140,000, New Jersey 64,000, Massachusetts 60,000 and Pennsylvania 40,000 people said goodbye. All of them are run by a majority Democratic governing body.
Sunbelt states had the largest population gains. Florida added 450,000 residents, Texas 470,000, North Carolina 100,000, South Carolina 84,000, Tennessee 82,000 and Georgia 81,000. All of them are led by a majority Republican governing body.
So the next time the media takes issue with Republican policies, keep in mind that even now they’re voting with their feet.

Biden had no chance of canceling student debt
Do you really think President Biden believed he could spend our tax dollars without House approval? In an attempt to curry favor, he led people to believe he would cancel student debt. He knew full well that this would not work, but it would gain favor with the usually gullible populace. What a good fellow Joe Biden is trying to help us.

bread Democrats show contempt for local voters
The Pennsylvania Prize for Student Success School Voucher Program is designed to help children in low-performing school districts, like Allentown, have better opportunities. Unfortunately, the Democrats who represent Allentown will not support this program.
Governor Shapiro was elected to improve the education of low-income students by offering a voucher program. After working with Senate Republicans to develop PASS, Shapiro caved to Democrats who controlled the House and rescinded his support. One Democrat blocking PASS is House Education Speaker Peter Schweyer.
Democrats are more interested in pleasing the vested interests of local union leaders who support teachers unions than serving the educational and welfare needs of Allentown students. Because? Because these vested interest groups are the Democrats’ top campaign donors. Rep. Schweyer’s top contributors (totaling $52,000) for the last two elections, according to Ballotpedia, are unions.
It is time for the voters of Allentown to elect representatives who will serve their needs and not special interest groups and union bosses. It’s time to hold Reps. Schweyer, Schlossberg and McNeill accountable.
Join the party that represents parents, working families and our children. Join Republican efforts to adopt PASS. Demand that Governor Shapiro fulfill his campaign promise.

Thank you for the help in the medical emergency
My wife and I had just left the Trexlertown Giant when he had a bad seizure. I returned to Giant, parking away from the entrance to give him some privacy. Even though the seizure was over, we still attracted viewers. Several Giant employees kindly offered their assistance while waiting for the ambulance. A big thank you to Rochelle from Giant Direct who, among other things, took my cold groceries back to the store until I could pick them up later. His kindness should not go unnoticed.
Among the spectators was a father and his young son. They did not witness the seizure, only the aftermath. They seemed amused that my wife couldn’t remember her own name and looked at her like she was a circus freak. The man said loud and clear to his son, “Well, I guess you have a story to tell all your friends later,” to which his son excitedly said, “Yes!!”.
Instead of teaching his son how precious and fragile life is, he portrayed my wife as just a story to tell his friends. I wish that man would learn the meaning of four simple words, Teach your children well.

The future looks bleak for the next few generations
The way the world is now I fear for my grandchildren. The world is in crisis with 90% sunlight and in a critical heat wave at the same time.
To put an end to all the things we can’t control, we have to deal with the illustrious politicians in Washington, as well as those who are trying to get there to further destroy the world.
We have the dangerous nations of China, Russia and North Korea threatening us. Our allies begin to question our motives, trust and common sense. We sent $113 billion to Ukraine and now we are sending cluster munitions that are banned to 120 nations. What is Washington thinking?
Here at home we have homeless veterans and undocumented immigrants living in hotels and being bussed all over America, seniors being held hostage by their Social Security Disability Insurance checks every time the budget comes and they pay $12,000 a year for their health insurance and still pay school taxes. How about lowering the costs for the elderly and stop sending billions to a foreign country to pay for their war?
Wake up Washington and take care of America first.

The actions of the comic seem too cautious
I’ve been to a lot of stand-up gigs in my life, but I’ve never been to one that shuts down your cell phone and your smartwatch.
I asked one of the staff (while waiting in a long line outside the PPL center) whose idea was it to do this? He told me it was from Bill Burr.
Apparently he’s worried about people recording/stealing his stuff. He is on tour and does so in all the places he performs.
Based on its performance, you don’t have to worry.

Summer vacation with pay for legislators from Pa
If you’re looking for a quiet place to vacation this summer, I can suggest our state capital in Harrisburg. The kids playing there have left for the summer, so you can roam the empty building at your leisure. Apparently, their feelings were hurt as they felt betrayed (overpowered) by the governor, so they have decided not to return to work until September. To me it seems like just an excuse to take another summer with pay.
