Queen Elizabeth didn’t attend this year’s Opening of Parliament due to ‘episodic mobility problems.’ In a statement to ET on Monday, Buckingham Palace announced she would be missing th event. The statement read, ‘At Her Majesty’s request, and with the agreement of the relevant authorities, The Prince of Wales will read The Queen’s speech on Her Majesty’s behalf, with The Duke of Cambridge also in attendance.’ It marks the first time the Queen misses the event in 59 years.
