One person died in a house fire in Tampa Tuesday night, authorities said. Firefighters responded around 11:30 pm to the 10000 block of N Dixon Avenue and found a home engulfed in flames and heavy smoke, according to Tampa Fire Rescue. Crews brought the fire under control in 15 minutes. Firefighters searched the home and found a person who was unable to escape the home and died from fire-related injuries, the department said. Farmers Insurance said Tuesday it will stop offering coverage in Florida, ending home, auto and other policies in the state in a move that will affect tens of thousands of residents.
