One person died in a house fire in Tampa Tuesday night, authorities said.
Firefighters responded around 11:30 pm to the 10000 block of N Dixon Avenue and found a home engulfed in flames and heavy smoke, according to Tampa Fire Rescue. Crews brought the fire under control in 15 minutes.
Firefighters searched the home and found a person who was unable to escape the home and died from fire-related injuries, the department said. The department did not release the person’s name or any other details.
No other injuries were reported.
The state marshal’s office, the Tampa Police Department and the Fire Rescue Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
