Andy Reid doesn’t talk about the politics of the heads of state visit to the White House, but it’s definitely about the food
We know the Chiefs made another Super Bowl win by visiting the White House earlier this week. And there they had fun. And kicker Harrison Butker took the opportunity to make a statement about his stance against abortion and pedophilia and child sex trafficking. Pat Robertson, who gave influence to Christian conservatives, dies at 93
His strengthened faith prompted him to sell his family’s furniture and other belongings, and donate the proceeds to Korean orphans. He did this while his wife and children were visiting family in Ohio. She was furious. Years later, she offered advice to women in similar situations: “God can be your husband,” she said. Birth of a network Mr. Robertson moved the family into a rat-infested parsonage next to a brothel in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. He was a minister in that community when his mother told him that a small UHF antenna television station in Portsmouth, Virginia, was for…

“Priced out:” Texans fed up with property tax policy
AUSTIN (Nexstar) – After more than two decades in Liberty Hill, Lyndon Ebright and his wife have built a good life in their forever home. “I have a lot of sweat work on the property,” Ebright said. He works on wood and metal projects in his backyard shop while his wife tends a vegetable garden just below the patio he built. But those improvements, and the raging development of the greater Austin area, are taking a toll on their tax bills. “They’re going to price me out of the house,” Ebright said. “I’m going to be forced to sell and…

David Johnston, tasked by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in March with looking into allegations that China tried to interfere in the last two federal elections, says he has decided to step down from that role. In a resignation letter sent to Trudeau, Johnston said his role has become too much of a political controversy for him to continue. “When I took on the role of independent special rapporteur on foreign interference, my goal was to help build confidence in our democratic institutions,” the former governor general wrote. “I have concluded that, given the highly partisan atmosphere surrounding my appointment and…

Republican donor class scrambles to push alternatives to Donald Trump as 2024 presidential field grows
CNN — Even before former President Donald Trump was impeached this week for his alleged mishandling of classified documents, Bobbie Kilberg was in the “Never Trump” camp. And the veteran Republican fundraiser worries that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, given his public spat with Disney, one of his state’s biggest employers, could prove too “polarizing” to capture the White House in the end. So Kilberg, who has spent decades raising money for GOP presidential candidates, has thrown his support behind former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a longtime friend who entered the 2024 race this week . Although he said he…
