The Fort Dodge Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday morning. According to a statement from the FDPD, a resident of 1219 Sixth Ave. S. called the Webster County Law Enforcement Center shortly after 5 a.m. and said someone was breaking into his garage and had shot the man. Fort Dodge Fire Department officers and medics responded and located an unresponsive man, who was eventually pronounced dead. The Webster County Medical Examiner, as well as investigators from the Division of Criminal Investigation, were brought in to investigate.
