HYANNIS, Mass. – A smoke situation on a Steam Authority vessel sailing from Nantucket to Hyannis led to an inspection of the vessel and cancellation of the trip Monday morning, officials said. At approximately 10:30 a.m., crew members aboard the Katama discovered smoke in the ship’s bow thruster compartment as it completed its morning trip from Nantucket, Sean Driscoll, spokesman for Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority in Falmouth, he said in a statement. One person has been arrested after surrendering to Oklahoma City authorities following an hours-long standoff in the city’s southwest.
