One person has been arrested after surrendering to Oklahoma City authorities following an hours-long standoff in the city’s southwest.

Oklahoma City police responded to a shooting that turned into a standoff Monday morning near Southwest 42nd Street and South May Avenue.

Officers said they responded around 1 a.m. and two people were shot.

The extent of their injuries is not yet known, but both were taken to a local hospital.

OCPD said the suspect had barricaded himself inside an apartment after shooting the two victims and refused to come out.

Officers said they used flashbangs and broke down the front door to try to break up the standoff. They later used gas to knock out the suspect, causing the suspect to leave the building and surrender.

The names of the suspect or the victims are not yet known.
