Two inmates have escaped from the Fremont County Detention Center.

According to a press release from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, the two inmates escaped at 12:30 a.m. Saturday by climbing the complex’s east fence.

Rodolfo Varelas, a 25-year-old Hispanic male, is described as 5’6”, 173 pounds, with brown eyes, short brown hair and a medium length beard. He was sentenced to eight months in custody for controlled substances.

Christopher Dustin James Wallace, a 35-year-old white male, is 5’11”, 200 pounds with blue eyes, short cropped hair and a brown goatee. He was being held on a parole revocation.

Both were managers assigned to the kitchen detail.

Authorities warned not to approach inmates if seen and to call 719-276-5551.
