A 20-year-old man was killed and another man faces manslaughter charges after they shot each other at a Pinellas Park apartment complex early Tuesday, police said.
The shooting happened around 1:50 a.m. at the Boardwalk Apartments, 6401 102 Ave. N, according to Pinellas Park police.
Axel Geraldo Gilbert, 20, was “engaged in a verbal altercation” with Nuriyjha Jackson when the fight turned into gunfire, police said. The two men fired shots and hit each other.
Gilbert was pronounced dead at the scene. Jackson, 23, was taken to a hospital.
Police say Jackson faces a charge of involuntary manslaughter and will also be charged with violating his probation in connection with a previous robbery case.
