welcome people NHL Draft lottery day has come and gone. Your Philadelphia Flyers will have no shot at Connor Bedard as the Chicago Blackhawks have won the NHL draft lottery and the Connor Bedard sweepstakes. The hockey Gods didn’t answer all of Flyers fans’ prayers, but the orange and black will be left with plenty of good yesterdays to choose from.

Not a bad day for the Flyers and interim general manager Danny Briere. As I’ve been alluding to for the past month or month and a half, Briere will shed the draft-provisional tag when the Flyers choose between Ryan Leonard, possibly Zach Benson, Dalibor Dvorsky or Oliver Moore on draft day in June. 28, 2023.

It’s not about whether the draft is a good player, that will happen as the Flyers had a 6.5% chance to move up in the first pick. At least they had a chance, even though it wasn’t in the cards to get or move up Connor Bedard with the first pick.

Time for Flyers fans to celebrate. They’ve been patient enough for something good to happen, so voila. Hopefully, this will be the start of a faster rebuild and lead to a productive offseason for the orange and black.
