JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The largest vessel arriving at JAXPORT is now at the Blount Island terminal.
ONE STORK made its record arrival on Tuesday morning.
The arrival of the huge container ship is the result of the dredging of the river St. Johns 47 feet deep.
The ship had a big welcome party once it arrived, with hundreds of rides on the St. Johns to see A SWAN.

ONE STORK can hold up to 14,000 containers and they hold everything from electronics to furniture.
The ship made the trip from China and is one of the largest to sail the East Coast.
“It’s very surreal. We had a lot of naysayers that said we couldn’t do it. There were a lot of challenges for me, there were a lot of challenges for the team. Today just shows that we could do it,” said Eric Green, general manager of JAXPORT.

Now the work begins as workers begin unloading containers and reloading the ship in the next 24 hours.
ONE STORK barely got under the JAXPORT power lines. Increasing the lines is the next big project to allow even larger shipments to reach JAXPORT.
Action News Jax’s Robert Grant will show the next multi-billion dollar project on CBS47 and FOX30 Action News Jax at 5.
