The Department of Politics and Government holds its annual awards ceremony – News

Awards Ceremony 2023

Nearly 100 students, family members, retired faculty, current faculty members, and members of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences’ Bar Advisory Board (AAB) attended the Department of Politics and Government’s annual 2023 award ceremony . This is the first time since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic that the ceremony is held in person. Students were recognized in the various subfields of political science and legal studies, as well as for their overall achievements. The ceremony also included the induction of 14 new members into Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society.

The ceremony was held in the Old Main Hall of the Bone Student Center on April 21, 2023. A total of 30 students received awards in 26 categories. Members of the department’s award-winning teams, the Mock Trial team and the Model United Nations team, were also recognized.

Professor Mike Hendricks received the Pi Sigma Alpha Teaching Excellence Award and Jason Cieslik received the Hibbert R. Roberts Teaching Excellence Recognition Award. The program was jointly sponsored by the department, Pi Sigma Alpha and the AAB.
