Bank robber Chadron remains at large

At approximately 2:30 pm on May 12, several Chadron Police Department officers responded to the Chadron Federal Credit Union at 126 East Third Street for an alarm. The bank had been robbed by an unknown man. The man entered the bank and struck up a conversation with a teller before pulling a gun from his hoodie and demanding money. After receiving the money, the suspect left the bank and headed northeast on foot. The area was searched for the suspect and possible evidence.

The Chadron Police Department issued a code red alert to alert the community and local businesses. A post was also made on social media asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect and to notify law enforcement if discovered.

The attached photo is from surveillance footage and the suspect remains at large. We are asking for the communities help in identifying the suspect. If anyone thinks they know who the suspect is, or if anyone has any information about seeing the subject on the date of the robbery, call the Chadron Police Department at 308-432-0510. If you know or see the suspect, please stay away and contact law enforcement in your area immediately.

The Chadron Police Department is being assisted with this investigation by the FBI, Nebraska State Patrol, Task Force WING and the Dawes County Sheriff’s Office.
