The Green Bay Packers are adding to their offense in a big way this offseason. The last two seasons have seen the Green Bay Packers involved in two massive trades. Of course, this offseason was headlined by the franchise-altering Aaron Rodgers trade. Last offseason was the main trade for Davante Adams. Both trades netted the Green Bay Packers a substantial amount of premium draft picks. As a result, there could be one more trade on the horizon. However, today the Packers signed an athletic player on offense, and Green Bay Packers fans were excited.

Reporter Aaron Wilson broke the news on Twitter that the Packers picked up guard DJ Scaife Jr. after his release by the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins signed the University of Miami rookie linebacker as an undrafted free agent earlier this month. Scaife is an extremely athletic offensive guard, so much so that he was ranked impressively high by every guard tested at the NFL Combine since 1987.

According to Jordan Siegler of Wisconsin Sports Heroics:
The Miami Dolphins signed Scaife as an undrafted rookie free agent after the draft. According to one of the dolphins statementwas a standout offensive lineman for the Miami Hurricanes:
“[Scaife] joined the Dolphins on May 12, 2023 as an undrafted college free agent. He spent five seasons (2018-22) in Miami, where he played in 61 games with 52 starts, primarily at right guard and right tackle. Scaife earned second team All-ACC honors in 2021 and honorable mention All-ACC recognition in 2022. He is a Miami native and played at Miami Southridge High School.”
Scaife will join a Packers offense that has plenty of returning veterans on the offensive line, but has youth at skilled positions. It will be tough for Scaife to earn a roster spot on the Packers’ deep offensive line in training camp this year. However, if the Packers did trade David Bakhtiari this offseason, Scaife may find a role on the Packers’ practice squad or better.
