Donald Trump ally Laura Loomer has sparked outrage over comments in which she described Casey DeSantis’ battle with cancer as “overblown.”
Ms Loomer, a far-right anti-Muslim activist who ran twice unsuccessfully for Congress and was kicked off Twitter in 2018 for “hateful conduct”, said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had exaggerated the his wife’s battle with cancer in a desperate attempt to woo voters.
The Trump loyalist called for the release of Ms. DeSantis’ medical records to show that she is not being exploited as campaign support for her husband’s political ambitions.
Meanwhile, over the holiday weekend, Trump foe and former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney spoke about the political test she faced in the immediate aftermath of Jan. 6 during her speech to Colorado College graduates.
“After the 2020 election and the January 6 attack, my fellow Republicans wanted me to lie. They wanted me to say that the 2020 election was stolen, that the Jan. 6 attack was not a big deal, and that Donald Trump was not dangerous,” he told students and families in his speech Sunday, according to the Associated Press . “I had to choose between lying and losing my position in the leadership of the House.”

Trump responds to DeSantis’ comments on Fox & Friends
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made an appearance on Fox & Friends this morning, and when asked about his chances in Iowa, he made a specific point of bashing Donald Trump, his primary challenger.
I mean, you know, they had mentioned that there might be some differences with Donald Trump and me. And I think those differences cut to my benefit in a place like Iowa. I mean, for example, you know, he’s sided with Disney in our fight here in Florida. I defend the parents, I defend the children. And I think a multi-billion dollar company that sexualizes children is not consistent with the values of Florida or the values of a place like Iowa.
Within moments, the former president responded in a post on Truth Social:

Trump then retweeted a post from yesterday in which he blamed Mr. DeSantis for Disney becoming an “awakened, loathsome shadow of its former self”:
Disney has become a repulsive, awakened shadow of its former self, with people hating it. It needs to go back to the way it was before, or the “market” will do irreparable damage.
