DALLAS, NC – The Dallas Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in Dallas early Wednesday morning.
The city has not had a fatal shooting since 2017.
Officers were called to a shooting shortly after midnight at a home on Eastway Drive off Old Spencer Mountain Road.

Inside the home, police found 25-year-old Christopher Knox Wery with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday, police announced the arrest of Nicholas Max Tallent.
Officers charged Tallent with one count of second-degree murder and booked him into the Gaston County Jail without bond.
Police have not said what led to the shooting.
The department says the investigation is open and ongoing.
