Breaking news! Both Pete Crow-Armstrong and BJ Murray will represent the Cubs at the futures game!

In a strange move this afternoon, the Tennessee Smokies hinted that an announcement about a Pete Crow-Armstrong was coming.

Many of us behind the scenes thought it was a weird tweet. It is not standard operating procedure to imply that a player was being promoted. And it was different.

Instead, Crow-Armstrong, who was recently MLB Pipeline’s top 10 in its top 100 prospects, will be in the game for the second year in a row. He is currently hitting .280 with 9 HR and 45 RBI with a 130 wRC+.

As for Murray, the 2021 Florida Atlantic Draft Pick was the Cubs Hitter of the Month for May here at NSB. For the year, he is hitting .258 with 7 HR and 36 RBI to go along with a 126 wRC+.

They are two deserving candidates and will be fun to watch!

So much for Tennessee waiting until tomorrow to announce!
