Much to come today, Oklahoma. It’s a wild forecast, starting with thunderstorms with small hail and strong winds.
Heavy lightning and very heavy rain, Tuesday afternoon will be dangerously hot! Highs will climb into the upper 90s and low 100s, but the Gulf humidity will make it feel much warmer!
Dew points will be in the 70s and heat index values will rise from 105 to 112 across the state.
More severe storms are expected to develop Tuesday evening. These will be heavy wind producers! The storms could have tennis ball-sized hail, winds of 70 to 80 mph at times, and there will be a low tornado threat.
Damaging winds could cause widespread power outages in the north. It will be dangerously hot again on Wednesday and we will close all-time highs.
