A 22-year-old man has died after an early morning crash in Indiana County. Kohl Michael Beatty, of Indiana, died in the crash around 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from County Coroner Jerry L. Overman, Jr. The release says the Indiana Fire Association was dispatched to the 2300 block of South 6th Street in White Township for a tree and wires in the driveway. Shortly thereafter, the office learned of a motor vehicle accident at the same location. Beatty was driving a Saturn VUE traveling south and struck the back of a coal truck. The truck was moving very slowly, according to the release, because of the tree in the roadway. Beatty was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the coroner said. He died at the scene from his injuries. The coroner ruled the cause of death blunt force trauma and the manner of death accidental. Mr Beatty indicated on his driver’s license that he wanted to donate his organs. No funeral home has been announced at this time.
