BOSTON – Three suspects are facing charges after five people were injured in a shooting in Boston during an overnight incident that left a street covered in fireworks debris, law enforcement officials said.
Hakeem Ramey, 29, of Brockton, Nashaly Seguinot, 25, of Boston, and Samuel Roman, 24, also of Boston, are scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges including possession of il· firearm, according to the Boston Police Department. .
Officers responding to a report of shots fired in the area of 33 Edgewater Drive in the city’s Mattapan section around 2 a.m. found five victims with apparent gunshot wounds, police said.
All victims were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Video from the scene showed a heavy emergency presence in the area and dozens of clue markers alongside shell casings in the street.
Officers later stopped a vehicle attempting to leave the scene and spoke with the occupants to ensure there were no injured victims in the vehicle, police said. During that interaction, officers recovered a loaded firearm. The weapon was later determined to be a Lorcin L 380, with one bullet in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.
Officers also observed a third suspect discharge a firearm near the scene and was quickly taken into custody. This pistol was later determined to be an H&K VP9 with one round in the chamber and fourteen rounds in the magazine.
Ramey, Seguinot and Roman were then arrested.
Daytime photos of the neighborhood that later emerged showed the street littered with discarded fireworks and other debris.
Hours after the violence broke out, a street sweeper was seen cleaning up debris from the littered roadway.
An investigation remains ongoing.
