One dead in Liberty County crash, several others injured

Update: Liberty County Coroner Reginald Pierce tells WJCL 22 News that one person has died in the crash. According to an officer at the scene, a Chrysler Aspen moved from the right lane to the left lane and struck a Chevy Silverado. The Aspen spun several times and ejected a woman who landed under the Silverado. Other motorists helped remove the woman’s truck. Five other people were injured and taken to Memorial Health. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a multi-car crash in Liberty County that left several in the hospital. The Coastal News Service reports that a teenager was ejected from an SUV and thrown under a pickup truck. Another motorist stopped and lifted the teenager’s truck, according to law enforcement at the scene. The southbound lane of I-95 near mile marker 79 is closed. It is unclear how many people were taken to the hospital or the extent of their injuries.
