Three children are among six people who have died after a stabbing at a kindergarten in China’s Guangdong province.

The other victims are believed to be a teacher and two parents.

The incident took place around 7:40 a.m. local time, when parents were likely dropping off their children at daycare.

Dafeng News, a news outlet, said an unidentified witness had claimed the attacker’s son had been hit earlier by the car of one of the people who died at the school.

Although violent crime is rare in China, attacks on kindergartens have been prominent in recent years.
