DAY, OTHER AND NICE AND COOL NOW AT 46 DEGREES. BUT IT COULD EVEN APPROACH 90 HERE ON THE SOUTH COAST LATER TODAY. WE ARE CLOSE TO 70. AND STOCKTON, A MODEST CURRENTLY AND A VERY COMFORTABLE 65 DEGREES RIGHT NOW IN SACRAMENTO. BUT BE PREPARED FOR THE TIME WE ARRIVE AT NOON AND AFTERNOON. YES, WE WILL HAVE SOME HEAT ON THE FLIGHT. HERE IS THIS HOURLY FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH COAST BY MID-MORNING IT WILL BE IN THE UPPER 70S AND PROBABLY GET TO THE UPPER 80S NEAR 90S ABOUT THREE 4:00 THIS AFTERNOON. OBVIOUSLY THIS GREAT GOLF TOURNAMENT THAT IS FANTASTIC AT THE AMERICAN CENTURY CLASSIC AT EDGEWOOD. SO WE’RE TRYING TO FIND SHADE, HOPEFULLY SOMETIME THIS AFTERNOON BECAUSE IT’S GOING TO BE ON THE WARMEST SIDE. NOW THIS IS THE BIG PICTURE OF THE SATELLITE VIEW FROM THE INFRARED IMAGE. AND AFTER THE SUN IS RISING ENOUGH, WE SEE THE SATELLITE VIEW AND LOOK AT THAT. THERE IS SMOKE FROM THE MARIPOSA REGION. NOT SURE IF IT IS A PRESCRIBED BURN. I WAS TRYING TO FIND OUT EXACTLY WHAT THE POINT OF THE SMOKE IS HERE, BUT LOOK AT HOW IT’S DIVING NORTH FOR PARTS OF TUOLUMNE COUNTY AND A LITTLE OF IT EVEN PASSING THROUGH EL DORADO COUNTY AT HIGHEST HEIGHTS AT THE SERRA, THERE IS NO REPORT. OF ANY KIND OF SMOKE AND SAYS EL DORADO COUNTY. BUT DOWN TOWARD SAINT MARIPOSA COUNTY, THERE IS THICKER SMOKE ACROSS THE HILL FROM THE GROVELAND AREA, 109 DEGREES, HIGH EXPECTED TODAY IN SACRAMENTO. THE RECALL IS 109 FOR TODAY’S DATE. SO WE CAN LINK THIS. AND IF WE GET TO 110, TODAY WE WILL BREAK IT AND IT IS A POSSIBILITY. SO WE CAN LOWER A FEW DEGREES DOWN, LOWER THE HEAT TOMORROW AND MORE GOING INTO MONDAY WITH THIS WITHDRAWAL, PULL THIS BREEZE ONTO LAND AND MID WEEK BACK TO THE HEALTHY MID 90S TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY. THE FORECAST FOR TODAY LOOKS LIKE QUINCY HOT FOR OVER 100 DEGREES TODAY, 92 AT TRUCKEE ARNOLD A HIGH OF 96 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON AROUND. A LOT OF PLATES ALONG HIGHWAY 49, OVER 100 DEGREES, 100 DEGREES IN GRASS VALLEY, THE 103 IN PLACERVILLE TODAY, IT’S MANDATORY, IT’S WHERE THEY CANCELED THE SPEEDWAY TONIGHT, THE ANGELS CAMP ON THE 104, THE 105 A DAY, IN PLACERVILLE IN LAGOS 100 DEGREES TOO. The KCRA 3 Weather Team is calling both Saturday and Sunday “Impact Days” due to the heat in Northern California. Temperatures warm up Saturday, with highs between 107 and 110 degrees. Meteorologist Tamara Berg said Saturday will be the hottest of the heat wave. “Saturday will be the worst of the heat as that ridge is right over us. We don’t see any relief until at least Tuesday as that ridge starts to weaken,” Berg said. VIDEO Below | How to plan for extreme heat this weekend in Northern California. Highs will be between 100 and 105 degrees for the Foothills and even 90 degrees for Tahoe. It will also be a warm night with morning temperatures in the upper 70s in the Valley on Sunday. Temperatures may drop a bit on Sunday, with highs between 104 and 107, according to our weather team. These high temperatures put Northern California in record territory. The record high temperature in Sacramento for Saturday is 109 degrees, which was set in 1926. “I think we could tie the record on Sunday as we move up to 108,” Berg said.
