The Tarpon Springs Police Department announced that Maj. Michael Trill died Saturday while off-duty from an unspecified “medical issue.” He was 53 years old. Trill worked for the department for more than 27 years, according to a statement. He joined the agency in 1995 and was considered a leader within the department, according to previous reports. Several injured when driver crashes into St. Petersburg apartment building
A driver traveling the wrong way on 15th Avenue S crashed into an apartment building around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, according to St. Petersburg police. Deairis Bargman, 32, failed to stop when an officer tried to pull the vehicle over, police said. It then crashed into a building in the 2400 block of 15th Avenue S, injuring a man inside an apartment. That man was treated and released, according to investigators.
