John C. Cushman, III, a member of the founding family of Cushman & Wakefield, died on May 4 at the age of 82. “Throughout his 60-year career, John’s iconic legacy in business, the commercial real estate industry and as a global citizen is a key pillar in the history of Cushman & Wakefield,” Cushman & Wakefield said in a statement. “We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and all who join us in mourning this great loss.”
The Cushman family offered the following statement: “The Cushman family is very saddened to share that John C. Cushman, III passed away peacefully today at the age of 82. His wife of almost 60 years Jeanine and their four children, wives and all 10 grandchildren have been by his side along with John’s two brothers. He was very proud of his family and leaves behind an incredible and iconic legacy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including countless friends and colleagues.
“John’s accomplishments in commercial real estate were extremely remarkable, but his positive impact on so many careers is what mattered most to him. John always valued the importance of giving back and was a strong supporter of many philanthropic endeavors. His contributions to so many organizations will add to his legacy.”
