Sheriff’s deputies fired shots while serving a search warrant in Clifton Park

Two Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies are in the hospital after being shot Tuesday morning. The suspect was also wounded in an exchange of gunfire.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department says they were executing a federal narcotics search warrant today at the Foxrun Apartment Complex on Foxwood Drive. That’s when shots were fired from both sides.

The residents of the area are shaken. NewsChannel 13 spoke with a man who said he heard gunshots around 5 a.m

Authorities say the two injured sheriff’s deputies and the suspect have been taken to Albany Medical Center.

A law enforcement source told Mark Mulholland that a deputy was shot in the leg. The other was shot in the chest. Both deputies were wearing bulletproof vests.

The suspect is not expected to survive, the source said.
