Wan Muhamad was speaking a day after he was elected, unopposed, as Speaker of the House. He chaired a meeting with the Secretary-General of Parliament today, in preparation for him and his deputies to receive the royal command confirming their positions, which could happen in the coming days.

When he officially becomes Speaker of the House, he will call the first meeting of the House of Representatives on July 12 to discuss technical issues, he said.

“On July 13, there will be a joint session of the House and the Senate to select the Prime Minister. The meeting will start at 9:30 a.m. I have already discussed the matter with the Senate President, Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, who has agreed to the date” , Wan Muhamad said.
